Youth of Grace Events

RESCUE stands for: Reach Every Student and Children Under Eighteen and this year’s event is being put on by Trinity Lutheran Church Simi Valley in partnership with Concordia University Irvine’s DCE Program.  It will be held on November 16th, 2025 from 1:00 P.M. to 6:30 P.M.  and middle and high school students from across Southern California are invited to Trinity Lutheran Church for an afternoon filled with fun, service, worship, and community. There will be a Bible study, a service event, games and the Habit Food Truck.  The theme for the afternoon is “Rescued by Grace. Sent to Rescue.” and the focus verse is  “For He has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son He loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.” – Colossians 1:13-14.  Please speak with me (Lisa Sage) by October 12th if you would like to participate so that I can get everyone registered before it fills up.

Friday, December 19th – A Youth Group Progressive Dinner

All Middle School and older members of the Youth Group and their friends will be heading

out around Ventura on the evening of December 19

for a fun filled progressive dinner event. However in order to have a progressive dinner, we need are looking for 4 to 5 members of the congregation to be willing to open up your homes to us, feed us, and in return we will bring some Christmas cheer your way. We are hoping to have an Appetizer stop, a salad and bread course, a main dish, and a desert stop. The food can be homemade or purchased (even a couple of pizzas

delivered will work). Please speak with Lisa Sage if this is something that you are willing to help

us out with. As we get closer to December, I will make sure to finalize the number of youth attending and the times.

Events and activities with also be on calendar.

Sunday School Christmas Program

This year we will be once again sharing the Christmas Story with all of you at the

Christmas Eve Service. We will be looking at Christmas through some of the traditions and

decorations we use to prepare for the coming of baby Jesus. Children will be rehearsing during Sunday School. If you have questions or are interested in helping speak with Lisa Sage.
